No data sold, no advertising

We do not sell or rent personal data, and no advertising networks run on this site.

Two Google services are involved

The web fonts that render this site, and the booking calendar at /book-a-call. Both are described below.

Your visit is measured by our host

Our hosting platform records access data and a random session identifier automatically. What that means is explained under “Measuring how the site is used”.

You stay in charge

You can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted — one email to contact@wayfarer.ventures is enough.

Who is responsible

Controller under Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR, and publisher of this site.

Wayfarer Ventures GmbHGeibelstr 5412305 BerlinGermany

01Visiting this website

When you open a page, your browser automatically sends some information to the server that delivers the site. Our hosting provider records it in log files: the address of the page you requested, the date and time of the request, the page you came from (referrer), the browser and operating system you use, and your IP address, without which a page cannot be delivered to your device.

This data serves to deliver the site without errors and to keep it secure. It is not merged with other data about you, and it is not used to build a profile of individual visitors. It is kept only for as long as is needed for those purposes.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functional and secure website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

03When you contact us

If you write to us by email, or use a contact form on this site, we process the details you give us — your name, your email address and whatever your message contains — for the sole purpose of answering and handling your enquiry.

Where your enquiry leads to a contract or to steps before a contract, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; for other enquiries it is our legitimate interest in replying, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If you explicitly agreed that your data may be used for a further purpose, the basis is your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

We keep correspondence until the matter is closed and then delete it, unless a statutory retention period (commercial or tax law) requires us to keep individual documents longer.

04Measuring how the site is used

Our hosting platform automatically collects a small set of usage and performance figures when a page is opened: which page was visited and when, the referring page, the browser, language and time zone of your device, and how quickly the page loaded. A randomly generated session identifier is stored in a cookie on your device and in your browser's local storage so that repeated visits can be counted once rather than many times.

These figures are used to understand how the site is used, to keep it running and to detect abuse. They are not used for advertising and are not sold on.

Because this measurement is not technically necessary to deliver the site, it is normally carried out only with your consent (§ 25(1) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The consent notice at the bottom of every page asks for that permission, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. As a further safeguard, you can stop the measurement yourself by blocking the script at /~flock.js in your browser, or by using a browser extension that blocks analytics requests.

05Web fonts from Google Fonts

This site loads its typefaces (Raleway and Literata) from Google Fonts, which is served from servers operated by Google. To render the text, your browser connects to those servers, and Google's servers thereby learn your IP address and that this site was opened from your device.

We have no influence on this transfer and receive no information from it. Google processes the data as a controller in its own right; its own privacy notice explains what happens with it.

The legal basis is our interest in presenting the site uniformly and attractively, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If you prefer that no connection to Google is made when you read this site, you can block fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com in your browser, or install the fonts locally on your own device.

06Booking a call

On the page /book-a-call we embed Google's appointment schedule, so you can pick a time directly. When you use it, the details you enter — your name, your email address, your time zone, the appointment you choose and any message you add — are transmitted to Google and stored there, and Google sets cookies of its own.

If you are signed in to a Google account at the same time, Google can associate the booking with that account. This happens regardless of whether we operate the schedule.

The booking itself is a step towards a possible contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; the embedded service is used on the basis of your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. If you would rather not involve Google, write to us at contact@wayfarer.ventures and we will find a time by email instead.

08Your colour theme

The site can be shown in a light or a dark look. The choice you make is saved in your browser's local storage so that the next visit opens in the same look, and so that the page is not first drawn in the wrong colours.

This preference stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us and cannot be traced back to you.

09Encryption in transit

This site is delivered over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Data that you send us — a message, a booking — cannot be read by third parties while it travels across the internet. You can recognise the encrypted connection by “https://” in the address line of your browser.

10Who else is involved

The site is hosted and delivered by Lovable Labs Sweden AB, Regeringsgatan 25, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden, which acts on our instructions as a processor and uses further infrastructure providers, among them Cloudflare for delivery and protection. The current list of those providers is published by Lovable at trust.lovable.dev.

Google acts as a controller in its own right for the two services named above (web fonts and the booking calendar), not on our instructions.

Some of these providers process data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. Where that happens, it is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which oblige the recipient to an equivalent level of protection.

Each processor is bound by a contract under Art. 28 GDPR. We pass your data on only within the framework described here.

11Your rights

You can write to contact@wayfarer.ventures at any time and ask, free of charge, to be told what personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have wrong or incomplete data corrected (Art. 16), to have data deleted (Art. 17), or to have its processing restricted (Art. 18). Data you gave us can be handed over to you or to someone you nominate in a machine-readable form (Art. 20).

Where we process data on the basis of a balancing of interests, you can object to that processing (Art. 21 GDPR). Where processing rests on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

If you consider that we process your data unlawfully, you can complain to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). For Berlin that is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin.

12Keeping this notice up to date

We may adapt this privacy notice when the site, the services we use or the law change, so that it always states truthfully what actually happens. The version in force is the one published here.
