Scientist. Founder. Wayfarer.

I grew up curious about everything: nature, people, how things fit together. That curiosity led me to biology and a doctorate in the natural sciences, through neurocell biology, genetics, bioinformatics and biomimicry. Science taught me that living systems find order in complexity, and that the most interesting things happen in the connections between parts.

Travel taught me the rest. A wayfarer moves through unknown land, reads the terrain and finds a path where there is none yet. I came to technology late, and I brought that way of seeing with me: every organisation, product and team is a living system, and it can be understood, designed and led.

With Claas Kauenhowen I found a kindred spirit and co-founded Xchange. Together we build ventures and technology at the edge of what is possible. Wayfarer Ventures is the name for how I work: setting out, mapping the way and bringing others along.

My book Chi gathers what I have learned. It is written for fellow venturers and wayfarers, the people who dare to think and do what others deem impossible. If that sounds like you, we should talk.
